Unitarian Universalist Studies Specialization

This specialization allows students preparing for either Unitarian Universalist religious leadership or advanced academic studies in a Unitarian Universalist-related field to document their thorough and deep engagement with the essentials of Unitarian Universalist identity. The specialization encompasses all the coursework specific to UU identity required for persons preparing for ministerial fellowship within the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Requirements

Students complete four-five pertinent courses totaling a minimum of 12 credit hours selected in consultation with the specialization coordinator and their faculty advisor. The UU Studies specialization typically includes these courses:

  • DS-680: Unitarian Universalist History
  • DS-681: Unitarian Universalist Polity
  • DS-682: Unitarian Universalist Special Topics
  • DS-683: Introduction to Unitarian Universalist Worship and Rites of Passage

Plus one other course of at least 1.5 credit hours selected in conjunction with the specialization coordinator.
