Scholarships for Current Students
We are pleased to award scholarships to current students based on their cumulative GPA at MTSO.
The John and Mary Alford Family Awards are made to returning students who have a good academic record and are especially promising candidates for pastoral ministry. The recipients should possess the relational skills and concern for persons necessary for pastoral ministry. In addition, the recipients should have good communication skills, be able to articulate the Christian faith and show potential for preaching. Awards are not automatically renewable, and the amount of each award varies. This program was given through the generosity of the late John W. and Mary Alford and their family.
The Werner Merit Scholarship Program was established by the School to reward returning students who demonstrate excellence in theological studies. Awards of $1,500 are made each year to a select number of full-time returning students in any master degree program, with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher in MTSO courses. This scholarship is a supplement to MTSO grant assistance, not to exceed financial need. Merit Scholarships are not renewable.
The Roy Zook Family Award for Competence in Parish Ministry is made to returning students who have good academic standing and are especially promising candidates for pastoral ministry as evidenced by their relational skills and concern for people. The recipients will demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to clearly articulate their Christian faith. Award amounts vary. These awards, made possible by the generosity of Roy Zook of Cleveland, Ohio, are not automatically renewable.
