Welcome to ITD 2022 at MTSO

We are excited to join together – virtually and in person – as the Institute on Theology and Disability Community June 6-9 in Delaware, Ohio. Our conference will be hosted by Methodist Theological School in Ohio and feature a dynamic range of speakers and facilitators from previous Institute gatherings along with new contributors and participants.

At Monday’s Institute Homecoming, we will share a meal and celebrate being together again. We will also take time to honor Bill Gaventa for his investment in the Institute on Theology and Disability through the years.

Meals

A meal plan is available through MTSO and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Thursday, including the welcome dinner on Monday and the closing dinner on Thursday. The cost is $200. For those participating in single-day events, a daily meal pass is available for $60. The Monday evening dinner is included with one-day Community Symposium registration.

Lodging

Dewire Residence Hall on the MTSO campus: Most rooms have one standard full bed and either a private bath or a shared bath. All rooms are air-conditioned and have wi-fi access. Availability of accessible rooms is limited. Rate: $55 per night. Email housing@mtso.edu to reserve a room.

Nationwide Conference Center: A limited number of rooms is being held for ITD attendees at Nationwide through May 6. Due to an internal board meeting, the fitness center and pool will not be available, but the dining room will be open. This conference center is 9 miles from MTSO's campus and is located near the Polaris shopping district. Rate: $124 per night. Reservations: 614-880-4300. (See TripAdvisor reviews.) Baymont by Wyndham: A number of rooms, including ADA rooms, are being held for ITD attendees at Baymont through May 15. This hotel is 1 mile from MTSO's campus and located adjacent to a parking lot with restaurants and a grocery store. Daily room rates vary under $80 per night. Reservations: 740-363-3510. Transportation

The closest airport to MTSO is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), a 35-minute drive from the campus.

COVID protocol

ITD policy requires individuals who participate in person at ITD 2022 to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, according to their country’s guidelines. Proof of vaccination is required upon check-in. All participants will be required to wear masks in indoor spaces unless otherwise stated. Proof of medical or religious exemption may be sent in advance to info@disabilitytheology.org for review by May 10. Virtual participation is available as an option this year.

Personal care assistants

Registration is offered free for personal care/support assistants. The weekly or daily meal plan must be purchased separately.

The registration deadline is June 1.

Please note: There are two forms below. With the first form, you will register and pay for the Institute events in which you'll participate. The second form collects additional information, from dietary needs to emergency contacts. Please be sure to complete both forms.
